FORMER Top Technician winner Clive Atthowe has been hand-picked for an exclusive training course on the other side of the world.

The Norwich technician, who took the Top Tech crown in 2007, will be jetting out to South Africa courtesy of rolling road and tuning company Dastek.

“I’ve never been offered anything like it before,” said Clive, of the all-expenses paid trip. “I’ll be learning more about programming engine management systems.”

“They contacted me about doing 10 days of training and I thought ‘wow!’. Then I got an email saying it would be at the company’s head-quarters in South Africa,” said Clive (pictured right). “Hopefully, they’ll let us do a bit of sight-seeing too.”

Clive, who gained large parts of his diagnostic knowledge by training with Aftermarket’s technical writer and Automotive Diagnostic Solutions boss Frank Massey, will travel to Pretoria in South Africa at the end of October.
